My Story
Nathaniel Mitchell — Photographer & Videographer
“The camera is my art form.”
I’m Nathaniel Mitchell, a 20-year-old photographer and videographer driven by storytelling, creativity and the pursuit of the perfect frame.
My passion for cameras started young, inspired by my dad and growing up surrounded by them. What began as something I was simply around became the craft I’ve devoted myself to.
After studying in Leicester for college, I moved to London to study at MetFilm School, where I continue to develop my skills and push my creative vision.
I also have a strong appreciation for shooting on film. Film photography has taught me to slow down, be intentional and trust my eye. With every shot limited, there’s a different level of thought behind each frame — from the composition and lighting to the moment itself. For me, that makes the final image feel more personal and authentic.
One of the highlights of my journey so far was being flown to France for a shoot. Working in a new environment pushed me to adapt, think creatively and trust my instincts behind the camera.
I believe every frame has a deeper meaning. Whether I’m shooting digital, film or motion, I’m not just capturing what’s in front of me — I’m capturing a feeling, a story and a perspective.
No matter the circumstance, I’ll get the shot.
I don’t just capture moments. I create frames with meaning.
“The camera is a tool, and it’s how you use the tool that makes the difference.”
— Roger Deakins
